Speech Therapy

What is Speech Therapy?

Speech therapy can be transformative for children and their families by improving their ability to communicate and speak more clearly. Our speech-language pathologists are trained in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders. Our speech-language pathologists can help children reach their full potential in communication and feeding skills by providing evidence-based, child-centered therapy. Speech therapy can help children:

  1. Improve Communication Skills: Whether it’s articulation, language comprehension, expression, or social communication skills, therapy helps children develop the skills needed to effectively communicate.
  2. Build Confidence: As children make progress in therapy, they often gain confidence in themselves and their interactions with others.
  3. Expand Their World: Improved communication skills allow children to engage with the world around them, whether it’s through social interactions, academic pursuits, or recreational activities.
  4. Enhance Quality of Life for the Entire Family: Clearer communication can reduce frustration and stress for both the child and their family members, leading to a better quality of life for everyone involved.

Our team can significantly improve the lives of patients and their families, empowering children to thrive and succeed.

Activities for Speech Therapy

Our speech-language pathologists conduct a thorough evaluation to understand the patient’s specific needs and areas of concern. Then, we develop a customized program. For children, we think of creative and fun ways to engage. This usually involves play, like sequencing activities or language-based board games. We support the patient through every step of the process, and yes, there will be homework! We communicate daily, so practice makes perfect!
